Domiciliary Care Assistant - Somerset

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistants to provide high-quality home care services to individuals in their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives through personalised care and support.

Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within the local area. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Duties

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
  • Support clients with mobility and transfer assistance as needed
  • Help with domestic chores including light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Administer medication following prescribed instructions (training provided)
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Drive to clients’ homes using own vehicle, ensuring safe transportation to social and medical appointments

Requirements

  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to use own vehicle for work purposes with the relevant business insurance
  • Experience working within a care home or home care environment is essential minimum of 12 months UK care experience (paid role)
  • Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them accurately
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
  • Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
  • Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards client and family members
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering consistent high standards of care
  • Flexibility in shift patterns (days and nights)
  • Able to work 11 or 12hr shift patterns
